Midwest Tungsten Service produces wire in a wide range of diameters for convenient usage. The metal diameters range from 0.0005-inch thru 0.06-inch thickness and all meet or exceed ASTM F288-96, Type 1A. Once the diameter starts approaching the thicker end of the spectrum, the wire is sold by the foot and is provided in self-coiling rings, as opposed to a certain kind of spool.
The wire is used in everything from experimental neurological interfaces to pedestrian medical devices. The 99.95% pure tungsten wire is cleaned, straightened, and free of striations so to be ready for use right off the spool. The wire is also available in thoriated alloys upon request.
